UP Web Game, a Germany-based maker of browser game Fliplife, has gained more than €1m ($1.4m) from a consortium including local peer RapidShare Entertainment.
Switzerland-listed investment group Mountain Super Angel, United Prototype Ventures (the UP Web’s founders’ investment vehicle along with games maker KaiserGames) and state-backed High-Tech Gründerfonds made up the rest of the consortium.
Thomas Bachem, a co-founder of IP Web, said: "As Fliplife is purely based on HTML5, it can be played on any device with a web browser (for example iPhone, iPad, Android), without the need to install any additional software."
Ibrahim Evsan, another co-founder, added: "Besides the sale of virtual goods we’re particularly happy with the B2B [business-to-business] sector developing particularly well. The German healthcare giant Bayer has just opened its Fliplife presence as a virtual employer."
