UK-based broadband terminal producer Isotropic Systems has secured over $40m in a funding round led by satellite communications network provider SES Engineering Services.
Boeing HorizonX Ventures, the strategic investment arm of aerospace technology producer Boeing, also took part in the round, as did Orbital Ventures, Space Angels, Firmament Ventures and the UK government’s Future Fund.
Isotropic is designing and developing terminals that enable satellites to communicate with each other. The antennae are intended to offer low-cost bandwidth to customers in industries such as transportation and commercial shipping, as well as for consumer terminals and existing wireless networks.
The company raised $14m in a January 2019 series A round led by Boeing HorizonX Ventures, with contributions from Future Fund, Orbital Ventures, Space Angels and Firmament Ventures.
Isotropic had already received $1m in a 2016 round and an additional $5m the following year, with both rounds being led by Waterlow.
