The list was led by Tao Capital Partners, the venture/private investment office of Nicolas Pritzker, which led investment rounds worth more than $700m and participated in 13 rounds of venture investments in 2019.
Horizons Ventures, the venture group of one of Asia’s wealthiest individuals, Li Ka Shing, led investments worth $467m in 2019, and participated in 22 deals worth over a billion dollars. The impact investment office Omiydar Network, owned by Pierre and Pam Omiydar, was the most prolific, participating in 39 deals, worth $475m.
The top 50 led deals worth $3.3bn in 2019 and participated in deals worth $7.3bn.
