Norwest Venture Partners, the venture capital firm that counts US-based bank Wells Fargo as its sole limited partner, has hired Sean Jacobsohn as a principal to open its San Francisco office.
Jacobsohn was previously a venture partner at VC firm Emergence Capital Partners for two years, investing in early and late-stage enterprise companies.
Prior to Emergence he was vice-president of worldwide alliances at cloud collaboration company Hightail and VP of channel management at Cornerstone OnDemand, a Nasdaq-listed human capital management software provider.
Norwest raised a $1.2bn fund in May and said six of its portfolio companies had been sold this year, including Skybox Imaging to Google, Echo Nest to Spotify, Veveo to Rovi, Hadapt to Teradata and Basis to Intel.
A further four – Sabre, MobileIron, Intersect ENT and Snowman Logistics – have floated during 2014.
