JD.com helps crown Kingdee Healthcare with $14.5m

China-based healthcare app developer Kingdee Healthcare has raised about RMB100m ($14.5m) in a series A round co-led by e-commerce firm JD.com, China Money Network reported on Monday.

JD.com, which paid $168m for a 10% stake in Kingdee Healthcare’s Hong Kong-listed parent company, enterprise software producer Kingdee International Software Group, in 2015, co-led the round with financial services firm Yongjin Group.

Kingdee Healthcare has built a mobile app that offers information on medical facilities, a hospital appointment booking facility and resource management tools for healthcare providers.

The platform has more than 8 million users who can access services from more than 3,000 hospitals and care providers, according to Kingdee. The series A funding will support marketing and product development.
