Jumpshot scores $22m from Avast

Cybesecurity company Avast Software provided $22m in series A funding for its subsidiary, US-based marketing analytics platform Jumpshot, today.

Founded in 2010 as an all-in-one online security and anti-spam and spyware platform, Jumpshot was subsequently acquired by Avast in 2013 for an undisclosed sum and has since pivoted to instead focus on online analytics.

The series A funding will support the scaling of Jumpshot’s operations and the development of two of its key products: the Jumpshot Plus marketing analytics web platform web platform and Jumpshot Strategic Analytics, which seeks out specific data on a client’s unique business requirements.

Jumpshot CEO Deren Baker explained: “It is not just our massive user panel that sets Jumpshot apart. It is what we do with it.

“Https data and persistent user IDs allow us to go beyond reporting discrete moments in the customer journey to also reveal why particular events took place. This depth of behavioural insight does not exist anywhere else and exposes the limited view that most marketers have of their best customers.”
