AV8 Ventures, the US-based venture capital firm funded by insurance group Allianz, has hired Amir Kabir as a partner to lead its insurance and financial technology practice.
Prior to joining AV8, Kabir had been investment director and founding member at Munich Re Ventures, the corporate venturing unit for reinsurance provider Munich Re, since 2016, investing in insurance, digital health, legal, cybersecurity and mobility technology.
Kabir featured on Global Corporate Venturing’s 2019 Rising Stars list during his time at Munich Re. That role was preceded by a seven-month stint as investment associate at VC firm Presidio Partners, focusing on energy, technology and life sciences investments.
