Sapling, a US-based human resources (HR) platform developer has been acquired by HR software provider Kallidus Group for an undisclosed amount, providing an exit for internet technology provider Google.
Founded in 2017, Sapling has developed a software platform that helps businesses manage HR tasks such as recruitment. employee onboarding and offboarding as well as HR data management.
UK-headquartered Kallidus will leverage acquisition to access the US market and begin offering e-learning services.
Sapling CEO Andy Crebar said: “By integrating with Kallidus’ existing high-quality offering and its award-winning software platform and digital content, we can take our growth to the next level.
“With the impact of covid-19 accelerating demand for integrated HR software and creating new challenges for businesses around the world, we see numerous opportunities to help even more people build better companies.”
In early 2019, Sapling raised $4m in a seed round led by Google’s artificial intelligence fund, Gradient Ventures that also featured venture capital firm Tuesday Capital. Family office Kli Capital has listed Sapling as a portfolio company on its website.
