US-based gameplay recording app developer Kamcord has raised $15m in a series B round led by video game corporation GungHo Online Entertainment.
The round also featured online portal Tencent, games developer Wargaming, TransLink Capital, M&Y Growth Partners, Merus Capital and XG Ventures, as well as individual investors Garry Tan, Aaron Iba, Harj Taggar, Alexis Ohanian, Dror Shimshowitz, and Mark Williamson.
Kamcord raised $7m in a May 2014 series A round led by TransLink Capital that included internet company DeNA, XG, M&Y, Williamson, Innovation Works, SV Angel and KLab. Prior to its series A, it secured $1m in an August 2013 seed round that included Tencent and Innovation Works.
The company had earlier raised $1.5m from a seed round in December 2012 featuring Google Ventures, the corporate venturing unit of internet company Google, internet company Digital Garage, e-commerce company Netprice, M&Y, XG, Andreessen Horowitz, Merus Capital, Plug and Play Tech Center, iVentureCapital, GVA Capital and Y Combinator. Y Combinator also invested $200,000 in June 2012.
Kamcord, which lets mobile game players record their gameplay and share it online, will use the series B funding to support expansion in the US and in Asia.
