Nagraj Kashyap, head of the corporate venturing of US-based chip-maker Qualcomm, has been promoted to a senior vice-president role at the company.
He rose from a vice-president role, making his full title senior vice-president of ventures, head of Qualcomm Ventures and Qualcomm Research Business Development.
Kashyap joined Qualcomm Ventures in 2003 initially in business development before moving to the venture group and overseeing the North America team. In 2007 he was appointed head of global venturing.
He began his career as a software engineer at Nortel, Motorola and 3Com/US Robotics before moving into project management with management consulting firm PRTM, now part of PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Kashyap was named the thirteenth most powerful person in corporate venturing in our inaugural Powerlist 100 out today.
