Salesforce.com and law firm Wilson Sonsini Goodrich Rosati have helped a $10.5m fundraising by Kenandy, a US-based cloud computing company for business supply chains founded by US entrepreneur Sandra Kurtzig.
Salesforce and Wilson Sonsini Goodrich Rosati were joined in the series A round by venture firm Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, which led the fundraising.
Kenandy is the latest venture by Sandra Kurtzig, who founded Ask Group in the 1970s. She was reportedly persuaded to launch the venture by Salesforce’s chief executive Marc Benioff, a neighbour of hers in Hawaii, where she had retired, according to news provider Wall Street Journal, in a colourful profile.
The WSJ profile also said she won the venture funding in part by showing up unannounced at the offices of Kleiner and having an impromptu meeting with Kleiner partner Ray Lane.
