Children’s app developer Kidaptive has raised an undisclosed seed round led by Menlo Ventures and with participation from AOL-backed CrunchFund, which news provider TechCrunch has described as “large” and “over-subscribed”.
Aside from Menlo and Crunchfund, the round also saw participation from Veddis Ventures, S-Cubed Capital, VKRM Ventures, accelerator iCamp, and Kidaptive’s animation partner Prana Holdings.
The startup firm is developing a range of children’s apps billed as “edu-tainment”. It has already released “Leo’s Pad”, a child-focussed game about an eight year-old Leonardo Da Vinci, in the UK and Australia ahead of a general release in the US.
