Kirk Coburn, founder of US-based, energy-focused Surge Accelerator, has joined oil and gas company Shell’s corporate venturing unit, Shell Technology Ventures, in Houston, Texas.
Coburn has not dicslosed the nature of his role at the unit. He closed Surge in April 2016 because of a “lack of industry support,” according to news provider Xconomy.
The firm raised four funds and invested in 43 energy technology startups in its first three years of operation, Coburn said in his LinkedIn profile.
