Kloudless clubs investors together for $6m

Kloudless, the US-based developer of an integration software platform for enterprise users, has raised $6m in a series A round that included e-commerce group Alibaba’s Taiwan Entrepreneurs Fund.

The round was led by venture capital firm Aspect Ventures and also featured VC firm Bow Capital, VC fund and company developer Heavybit and angel investors Ajay Shah, Tim Draper and David Sacks.

Kloudless provided unified application interface technology that enables enterprises to integrate their operations with applications like Salesforce, Box, Dropbox and ServiceNow. Alibaba’s investment was related to the company opening an office in Taipei, Taiwan.

Andrew Lee, senior executive director of Alibaba Taiwan Entrepreneurs Fund, said: “We were excited to learn that Kloudless opened a Taipei office with an eye on international expansion, especially in the [Asia Pacific] region.

“Kloudless is also a great match with some of Alibaba Group’s own initiatives like within Alibaba Cloud, so we are looking forward to working with them to accelerate their growth.”

The company has now raised $8m since it was founded in 2011 and its past investors include Draper, Sacks, investment firm Global Brain, VC firms WI Harper, WindForce Ventures and XG Ventures, and Teec Angel Fund.
