Knoma adds Rocket fuel to series A round

Knoma, a UK-based payments and marketplace for educational services, has raised £21m ($27.2m) in series A equity and debt financing from a consortium including Frankfurt-listed internet conglomerate Rocket Internet.

Other participants in the round included Global Founders Capital, the venture capital firm launched by Rocket Internet’s co-founders, as well as asset manager Fasanara Capital, crowdfunding platform Seedrs and angel investor Christian Faes.

Founded in 2018 as Higgler Europe, Knoma runs an online platform called Knowledge Market where users can access a range of coding and technology courses.

Up to £10,000 can be borrowed through the platform to pay for the courses, with the loans repaid by the student over a 12-month period at zero interest without additional fees.
