KodaCloud, a US-based developer of artificial intelligence (AI)-powered wifi technology, has emerged from stealth with $10m in series A funding from investors including cable service provider Comcast, Mobile World Live has reported.
Comcast participated in the round through its corporate venturing subsidiary Comcast Ventures, investing alongside investment firm Celtic House Venture Partners and venture capital firm Voyager Capital.
Founded as Art2Wave, KodaCloud provides a wifi service to enterprise customers that enables them to install and activate a wifi business network using a web-based dashboard or mobile app. Customers pay KodaCloud a monthly fee instead of buying equipment or software licenses.
Louis Toth, managing director of Comcast Ventures, said: “We have invested in this team before and believe KodaCloud has the ability to change how enterprise networks are built and managed.”
Ronny Haraldsvik, KodaCloud’s chief marketing officer, told Mobile World Live the company intends to begin raising a series B round next month sized at $15m in order to support international growth.
