US-based non-profit research institute SRI International has promoted Manish Kothari to president of its corporate venturing unit, SRI Ventures.
Kothari previously served as a director of commercial ventures and licensing at SRI Ventures, where he specialised in healthcare, engineering and physical sciences. In addition to his SRI Ventures role, he will also take up a position as vice president of SRI International.
Kothari originally joined SRI in 2013 as a business development consultant and entrepreneur-in-residence before being named as a programme director of SRI Robotics.
Before joining SRI, Kothari was a co-founder and the chief executive of Mytrus, a developer of cloud-based clinical trial management software.
Bill Jeffrey, president and chief executive of SRI International, said: “We welcome Manish into his new role at SRI, where his entrepreneurial experience will drive the creation of new, high-value ventures that are based on SRI’s breakthrough technology.”
