China-based healthcare IT company Kyee has closed a RMB 221m ($36m) series C round featuring SoftBank China Venture Capital, the local corporate venturing outfit of telecommunications company SoftBank, China Money Network reported yesterday.
The round was led by private equity firm Sensegain Investment and also included investment firm Highlight Capital.
Founded in 2004, Kyee has developed a range of healthcare-focused software, including a product which enables hospitals to manage digital patient records. The company also provides mobile apps that healthcare professionals can use to coordinate care and communicate with patients.
Kyee also manufactures several smart devices, such as an indoor positioning system that helps a hospital manage human resources, such as assisting nurses with their rounds. Other devices include a baby safety system, wifi distribution technology, and a mobile terminal for doctors.
CDH Investments led a $15m series B round for Kyee in February 2014 that also featured SoftBank. SoftBank had earlier invested $8.9m in Kyee in 2012.
