Philippe Lacamp, the founder of conglomerate Swire Group’s corporate venturing unit, has joined airline Cathay Pacific Airways, a Swire subsidiary, as senior vice president, Americas.
Lacamp joined Swire in 1992, taking on a position as the firm’s global head of sustainable development and venture capital in 2010. This involved establishing a corporate venturing fund to invest in biotech and cleantech companies.
In his new role, Lacamp will oversee Cathay Pacific’s operations and commercial activities in the Americas, and will be based in the airline’s San Francisco office.
Companies to receive funding from Swire in the past two years include renewable chemicals supplier Green Biologics and green chemicals producer Avantium.
