Marketing and business development group Inc & Co has purchased UK-based on-demand laundry service Laundrapp for an undisclosed sum, providing exits for corporates Henkel, Robert Bosch and Rocket Internet.
Founded in 2015, Laundrapp runs a professional laundry and dry cleaning service where UK customers can arrange for clothes to be collected, washed and returned to their home address using a mobile app. It will receive business development input from Inc & Co’s agencies while remaining at its London headquarters.
Laundrapp and Germany-based peer Zipjet merged in a June 2019 deal backed by an undisclosed amount of funding from industrial and consumer product manufacturer Henkel, e-commerce holding company Rocket Internet, Hargreave Hale, Toscafund and undisclosed additional investors.
The company had previously raised $12m of funding in total, including $6.4m in 2016 from undisclosed investors.
Zipjet’s investors included Rocket Internet, Henkel subsidiary Henkel Ventures and BSH Home Appliances Group, a division of industrial technology maker Robert Bosch, as well as fundraising advisory firm Amsterdam Venture Partners and Btov Partners.
