Sarah Ledwidge has been appointed as a investment manager at Business Growth Fund (BGF), the UK-based government-supported venture fund backed by five of the country’s major banking groups.
Ledwidge will be responsible for identifying investable local business in the South West of England, where the BGF has provided £41m ($68m) in growth funding for companies in a range of sectors.
Prior to joning BGF, Ledwidge spent 12 months as an investment manager at LDC, the private equity arm of Lloyds Banking Group. She worked for Lloyds in various corporate business and banking roles for almost 10 years .
Paul Oldham, regional director for the South West and South Wales, said: “At BGF we like to be close to the businesses we back and we are particularly keen to build our presence in the Thames Valley and Hampshire where we know that there are many growing businesses that can benefit from BGF’s growth capital and support. Sarah’s appointment will give us a significant boost to our coverage here.”
To date, the BGF has invested over £300m in 60 companies across the UK.
