Legend president Liu steps down

Liu Chuanzhi (pictured), founder of Chinese computer manufacturer Lenovo, has stepped down as the president of its parent company, Legend, but will remain as chairman.

Zhu Linan, a member of the company’s executive committee and a former executive vice-president, has replaced Liu as president.

Liu had previously stepped down as Lenovo’s chairman late last year to focus on his role at Legend, which runs one of China’s biggest corporate venturing units, Legend Capital.

Separately, Cai Daqing, a director at Legend Capital, said it had invested more than $100m in 14 medical and healthcare-related companies over the past five years.

At least two of these companies are preparing to go public, Cai added.
