LendUp, a US-based lending service for people looking for short-term loans, has raised its seed round from a consortium including search engine Google’s corporate venturing unit.
Alongside Google Ventures in the round were venture capital firms Kleiner Perkins, Andreessen Horowitz, Thomvest Ventures, Kapor Capital, Bronze Investments, Founders CoOp and Data Collective, DST-backed Startfund, which invests in graduates from accelerator Y Combinator, and angel investors such as Garry Tan, Harj Taggar and Alexis Ohanian.
