LetsGetChecked investigates $12m series A

Ireland-based medical testing platform LetsGetChecked has closed a $12m series A round that was led by Optum Ventures, the venturing fund of health services provider Optum.

Venture capital firm Qiming Venture Partners also took part in the round.

Founded in 2014, LetsGetChecked enables users to conduct regulated medical tests themselves at home, with the current offering including cancer screening, as well as sexual health, fertility and hormone testing.

If a test flags up a problem, LetsGetChecked’s nursing staff will first contact the patient to provide support before releasing the full results onto the user’s dashboard.

The capital will enable LetsGetChecked to scale its business, further develop its platform that connects consumers to laboratories and hire additional clinical support staff.

AG Breitenstein, partner at Optum Ventures, said: “At-home lab testing is the next logical step in building a consumer-friendly, patient-centric system.

“LetsGetChecked is poised to become a leader in bringing easy-to-access and powerful lab testing to consumers everywhere, and we look forward to helping them achieve that.”
