Ireland-based medical testing delivery service LetsGetChecked completed a $30m series B round featuring Optum Ventures, the corporate venturing fund owned by health services provider Optum, VentureBeat has reported.
The round was led by growth equity fund Leerink Transformation Partners and included existing backers including venture capital firm Qiming Venture Partners.
Founded in 2014, LetsGetChecked operates a service that allows users to order medical tests they can conduct themselves at home.
The kits cover cancer screening and sexually transmitted diseases such as gonorrhoea, HIV, herpes and chlamydia, as well as wellness testing, with medical staff contacting the user if a test flags up an issue.
LetsGetChecked has offices in the US, Canada and Ireland, and the series B funding will accelerate the delivery of diagnostics products in the US and internationally. It also plans to further develop its technology platform and invest in its US manufacturing and logistics operations.
Optum Ventures led a $12m series A round for LetsGetChecked in March 2018, investing alongside Qiming Venture Partners, though VentureBeat stated the latest round increased its total funding to approximately $48.9m following a $14.5m series A round in 2016.
