LifeImage, a US-based platform provider to exchange medical images, has attracted $5m in funding from Zaffre Investments, the corporate venturing arm of insurance company Blue Cross Shield of Massachusetts.
Founded in 2008, LifeImage has created an exchange platform aimed at healthcare providers to easily share imaging data no matter where an exam was performed.
The service is used by more than 120 health systems, including academic medical centres, trauma centres and oncology centres.
LifeImage has now secured approximately $90m in funding, including a $17.5m round in May 2015 led by health services provider Cambia Health Solutions.
Existing shareholders Cardinal Partners, Galen Partners, Long River Ventures, Mass Ventures and Partners Innovation Fund also contributed funds to the round in May.
