Safely, a division of corporate venturing-backed Location Labs, has acquired the assets of Seeker Wireless, an Australia-based provider of location solutions to mobile operators, for an undisclosed amount.
In October, Location Labs, which was formerly known as WaveMarket and makes the Safely security software launched in September (pictured), also bought peers Wirkle and Volly.
Location Labs has raised $26m and its remaining investors on its website include corporate venturing units Intel Capital, Mitsui Ventures and Qualcomm Ventures and venture capital firms BlueRun Ventures (which spun off from phone maker Nokia in 2005 but retained the Finland-based company as an investor) and Draper Fisher Jurvetson.
Then known as WaveMarket, the company closed its $9.4m series B round in February 2005 and $8m in it’s A round three years earlier. The company was founded in 2000 and its previous investors also include phone operators Telecom Italia and British Telecom, according to its website.
Seeker had reportedly raised around $27m from investors including Switzerland-based private bank Unigestion.
