US-based online video entertainment network and app publisher Machinima raised $24m in a series E round led by entertainment producer Warner Bros Entertainment on Thursday.
Redpoint Ventures, MK Capital, Coffin Capital, and Allen DeBevoise, Machinima’s executive chairman, also joined the round, which boosted Machinima’s total funding to more than $91m.
Warner Bros led an $18m series D round for Machinima in March 2014. Google Capital, the growth equity fund of internet company Google, MK and Redpoint also took part in the series D round, which followed a $35m Google Capital-led series C round in 2012 that included Redpoint and MK.
Machinima’s YouTube network is aimed at 18 to 34 year-old males and consists of scripted series, daily and weekly shows, gameplay videos and official publisher content from companies including DC Comics and Warner Bros.
The network has more than 430 million subscribers and 3.7 billion monthly video views. Machinima will use the latest funding to support growth by investing in more content and technology.
