China-based parenting e-commerce company Mama+ has received an undisclosed amount in a series C round featuring Steamboat Ventures, a corporate venturing vehicle for The Walt Disney Company, China Money Network has reported.
Eight Roads Ventures, a venture capital subsidiary of financial services group Fidelity Research and Management, led the eight-figure dollar round, which included GSR Ventures, Lightspeed Venture Partners and undisclosed Chinese institutional investors.
Founded in 2014, Mama+ operates an online marketplace where users can buy or sell parenting and maternity products along with written content.
Angel Plus provided RMB3m ($430,000 at current rates) in seed funding for Mama+ before GSR Ventures and Lightspeed China Partners added an undisclosed amount across its series A and B rounds.
Steamboat Ventures subsequently joined Lightspeed China Partners for a series B+ round in 2016 that was over $10m in size.
