US-based location services provider MapAnything has raised $33.1m in a series B round that featured Salesforce Ventures and ServiceNow Ventures, the respective investment units of cloud computing companies Salesforce.com and ServiceNow.
The round was led by investment firm Columbus Nova, while Greycroft, Harbert Venture Partners and angel investors Michael Lazerow and David Stern also participated.
Incorporated in 2009, MapAnything has built software that enables employees to automatically schedule client visits based on location, visualise sales efforts and analyse aggregate data by territory. It also includes real-time traffic and weather data to make service calls more efficient.
MapAnything’s software already integrates with Salesforce’s offering and will now also be integrated with ServiceNow’s product.
The company will use the money to invest in its internet-of-things (IoT) platform, which provides real-time tracking of IoT-enabled devices and enables workflow automation through Salesforce.
Salesforce Ventures previously took part in MapAnything’s $7.3m series A round in late 2015 alongside Greycroft, which led the round, Harbert Venture Partners, Lazerow and Stern.
John Somorjai, executive vice-president of Salesforce Ventures, said: “Salesforce Ventures is committed to investing in technology that extends our offerings and makes our customers even more successful.
“As a leading business platform for “where” software, MapAnything is a great example of the amazing innovation and commitment to customer success that we are seeing in the Salesforce ecosystem.”
