MapR Technologies, a US-based distributor of Apache Hadoop software, has raised $20m in its series B round primarily from three venture capital firms.
Redpoint Ventures led the B round, with peers Lightspeed Venture Partners and NEA also contributing, although the regulatory filing said at least five investors had been part of the funding.
In May, MapR struck a strategic partnership with database provider EMC, and MapR competes against Cloudera and Yahoo spin-off Hortonworks.
