Marketing Architects builds corporate venturing unit

US-based advertising services provider Marketing Architects has launched a corporate venture capital subsidiary called Zoomworks Ventures which will target developers of media, advertising and marketing technologies.

Zoomworks will provide entrepreneurs with capital and mentoring based on Marketing Architects’ innovation know-how in a bid to disrupt the business-to-business and consumer marketing space.

Founded in 1997, Marketing Architects specialises in self-funded television marketing campaigns, helping customers access affordable advertising options.

Steve Lubin, the company’s vice-president of corporate development, will oversee Zoomworks as managing director, while Marketing Architects chief executive Chuck Hengel and chief financial officer Brent Longval have also joined the unit to support its management.

Hengel said: “The Zoomworks team has already successfully started and exited multiple companies and products specialising in martech solutions.”

The unit’s investments so far include artificial intelligence-equipped data analytics platform operator Wizer, music-focused data provider Mediaguide and walking cane manufacturer The HurryCane.
