China-based cryptocurrency news and intelligence service Mars Finance has received an undisclosed amount of funding from investors including digital asset exchange Binance and crypto financial services provider Matrixport, Bloomberg has reported.
The round marks Binance’s first investment in China and also featured venture capital firm Ceyuan Ventures. It valued Mars Finance at $200m post-money according to Bloomberg.
Mars Finance provides Chinese-language news reports and market intelligence on the cryptocurrency and blockchain sectors. It also operates a crypto-focused VC fund called Consensus Lab.
Ceyuan Ventures co-led a round of undisclosed size for the company in June 2018 with cryptocurrency trading platform Huobi Global’s Ecosystem Fund that valued it at approximately $52m post-money, according to media reports.
Mars Finance had raised an undisclosed amount in a series A round featuring OK Blockchain Capital, part of crypto exchange company OKGroup that closed in March 2018 at a reported $23.7m valuation. , IDG Capital, Fun City Capital and Future Cap also contributed to the round.
