Brazil-based mobile commerce platform Movile has promoted Fabio Massuda to managing director for investments and portfolio management.
Since joining Movile in early 2017, Massuda has worn several hats including head of strategy, head of strategy and corporate development and M&A, director of strategy and corporate development, and most recently, director of fintech, strategy and investments.
He had previously worked at retailer Via Varejo as a management consultant, having spent a year at video game publisher Riot Games leading esports products and partnerships in Brazil. Massuda also co-founded Mobjoy Games in 2011 and worked at Monashees, MH, Fundación Chile and Monitor Deloitte.
Movile invests in technology companies and runs a network of app-based services covering areas such as food, financial services and other sectors.
The firm’s investments include last-mile delivery logistics services provider Moova, financial underwriting platform a55 and financial services platform Zoop, with Massuda serving on the boards of the latter two.
Back when Movile was still raising money, it counted the likes of internet group Prosus and media and e-commerce group Naspers as investors.
