Roy Meirom has left Sony Innovation Fund, the corporate venture capital arm of Japan-based conglomerate Sony.
Meirom was Sony Innovation Fund’s investment director for five years. He has not yet disclosed his next job but has revealed he will still be involved in the media and entertainment technology sector.
Meirom co-founded several companies such as Web3 marketplace platform Wemark and entertainment platform Cameo. He also founded and served as the programme director for ISCA Academic Program, a non-profit organisation.
Sony Innovation Fund was founded in 2016. The firm invests in early-stage technology startups focusing on entertainment, fintech and healthcare sectors. The unit has over 150 companies in its portfolio including Emperia, Urban Jungle and Senseye.
