France-based media company Melty has raised €10.5m ($11.2m) from backers including hotel chain AccorHotels and Bouygues Telecom Initiatives, telecommunication firm Bouygues Telecom’s corporate venturing arm, Tech.eu has reported.
The round was led by venture capital firm Jaina Capital, and also included VC firm Serena Capital and angel investor Patricia Barbizet.
Melty operates a range of 32 websites and apps aimed at young adults aged 18 to 30, covering topics such as film and TV, news, fashion, food and student life.
The company previously secured funding from Bouygues and Serena, with Bouygues first investing an undisclosed amount in 2009. Melty raised €3.6m in a 2012 series B round led by Serena and backed by assorted angel investors.
