Memed, a Brazil-based digital prescription service backed by mobile semiconductor technology developer Qualcomm, has received R$300m ($59.5m) in a round led by investment partnership DNA Capital, Baguete has reported.
DNA Capital invested through a vehicle created specifically for Memed, and was joined by four other investors including unnamed family offices and sovereign wealth funds.
Founded in 2012, Memed has built an online platform that helps healthcare providers access their patients’ electronic medical records and databases through an application programming interface, accelerating the drug prescription process.
DNA Capital had already led a $4.5m series B round for Memed in March 2020 also backed by Redpoint eVentures. It followed $500,000 from investors including Qualcomm’s corporate venturing arm, Qualcomm Ventures, in 2015, and Redpoint, Monashees and accelerator 21212 were among its earlier investors.
