Memorado shows smarts with $1.3m seed round

Memorado, a Germany-based developer of brain video games, has revealed that it raised $1.3m in seed funding in March from the founder of e-ecommerce platform Zaalando and five other investors.

The other participants in the round were venture capital fund Sunstone Capital and the founders of adtech company Fyber, startup incubator Hitfox Group, online hotel platform Wimdu and UK-based e-commerce company StylistPick.

Memorado’s founders are Marius Luther and Marius Jeuck, tthe creators of Wimdu, a travel room marketplace funded by Rocket Internet, which also incubated Zalando.

Memorado develops mobile device games that help users develop and improve their brain abilities. The company, founded in February this year, works with academics and neurology experts to improve the training methods underpinning the games.
