France-based online men’s fashion retailer Menlook.com secured $29m in funding on Tuesday from investors including IDinvest Partners, the venture firm backed by insurance company Allianz.
The round also included BPIfrance, Partech International, Orkos Capital,123venture funds, and Marc and Laurent Grossman.
Established in 2010, Menlook is an online fashion and clothing store operating in Europe, the US and Singapore. The website has had more than 17 million visitors so far in 2014.
Following the fundraising, the website has launched a selective online marketplace hosting emerging brands and designers.
Marc Ménasé, Menlook founder and CEO, said: “This latest fundraising drive offers us a fantastic opportunity that will enable us to enhance further the quality of our range of services throughout the world, attract new talents and invest in technologies of the future while playing several markets.
“The challenge we are going to seek to meet by 2017 consists in remaining e-commerce craftsmen and working hand-in-hand with prestigious brands while running the largest men’s store in the world.”
This latest round brings the total raised by the company to just over $41m, with previous investors including AXA Private Equity.
