Reply, a US-based online advertising company, has agreed to buy Steamboat Ventures-backed business network MerchantCircle for $60m in cash and shares.
The combined business, called Reply, estimated revenues of more than $100m next year.
In September, MerchantCircle acquired local diary organizer TimeBridge for an undisclosed sum.
MerchantCircle raised $10m in its series B round in November 2007 from Steamboat Ventures, the corporate venturing division of Disney, and venture capital (VC) firms Rustic Canyon Partners and Scale Venture Partners, Nasdaq-financier IAC and Square 1 Bank. Its series A closed at $4.1m in 2005, according to news provider VentureWire.
Reply is backed by VC firms Scale, Saints Ventures, Outlook Venture, Hercules Technology Growth Capital and ATEL Ventures, having raised $32.9m, according to Thomson Reuters, .
