Microsoft Ventures, the accelerator and mentoring programme of computing company Microsoft, has announced the ten India startups to take part in its scale-up programme.
The initiative was created by Microsoft Ventures as a response to the expanse of seed and series A funding that is already available in India. The company believes that what companies in India need is guidance in their growth phases.
More than 1,800 startups applied for the scale-up programme.
Cloud-based prototyping platform Canvasflip raised seed funding of $1.2m earlier this month from venture capital firm Bessemer Venture Partners.
Channelyst matches organisations with the distribution partners in specific markets. In its July 2015 seed round it raised $300,000 from venture capital firm Bitchemy Ventures.
Software-as-a-service firm Cloudcherry enables companies to track and measure customer loyalty and then act upon that information. In July 2015, the company raised $1m in seed funding from angel group Chennai Angels and IDG Ventures India, an investment affiliate of media company International Data Group.
Flutura is a big data and machine learning company. In November 2013, Flutura raised an undisclosed amount in seed funding from Hive Technologies, the India-based arm of US-based investment and mentoring firm The Hive.
Knolskape gamifies working to make corporate learning fun. The company was established in 2008.
Teewe produces a dongle that attaches to the HDMI port on TVs to allow a user to stream content from a smartphone to the screen. Created by Mango Man Consumer Electronics, it raised $1.8m in its March 2015 seed round from venture capital firm India Quotient and venture capital firm Sequoia Capital.
Triphobo operates a travel planner with curated attractions. Triphobo has a list of more than 300,000 attractions in 20,000 destinations, each curated by its users. It raised $3m in its March 2013 series B round from venture capital firm Kalaari Capital. Kalaari also invested $1m in Triphobo’s June 2014 series A round.
Vakilsearch operates an legal services online platform, where users can seek professional services from lawyers and chartered accountants.
Green computing company Vigyanlabs offers products to its customer businesses to manage power wastage in their computing systems. It operates as a carbon neutral company.
Finally, Vymo develops apps that focus on the automation of sales.
