US-based customer engagement platform developer Mighty Networks has raised $11m in a series A round co-led by Intel Capital, semiconductor and data technology provider Intel’s corporate venturing unit.
Venture capital firm Sierra Wasatch co-led the round, which also featured BBG Ventures, the female-focused fund owned by telecommunications firm Verizon, as well as First Round, Floodgate, Lucas Venture Group and angel investors, Dave Welch and Gina Bianchini.
Mighty Networks has built an experiential commerce platform for brands and businesses that is focused on individuals such as online content creators or influencers, combining community, content, online courses and subscription commerce.
Wendell Brooks, senior vice president of Intel Corporation and president of Intel Capital, said: “Given the rapid growth and emerging opportunity around experiential commerce, we are pleased to support Mighty Networks in realising their vision.
“We are enthusiastic about the ways machine learning and artificial intelligence can be applied to help brands and businesses make increasingly better, well-informed decisions more quickly as they market, sell and deliver new combinations of digital services.”
The company identified BBG, First Round, Floodgate, Lucas Venture and Welch as existing investors.
