MiMedia stores away $15m in series C cash

Smartphone manufacturer Micromax Informatics has invested in MiMedia, the US-based operator of a cloud storage service, as part of the latter’s $15m series C round.

Thorney Investment Group, Whitebarn Associates and R&R Venture Partners also participated in the round.

MiMedia, which was founded in 2009, has built a cloud-based storage system for photos, videos, music and files it claims is safe and accessible.

The funding will be used to accelerate growth and launch distribution partnerships with international technology, media and telecommunications companies. MiMedia has raised $35m in total, and counts film and TV production company Demarest as a past investor.
