Minieye, a China-based self-driving technology developer backed by mapping software provider NavInfo, telecommunications technology group ZTE and conglomerate Zhejiang Jiaxin Development, closed a series D1 round of undisclosed size today.
Investment bank China International Capital Corporation’s CICC Alpha unit and asset manager Dongfeng Asset Management co-led the round, which included Harvest Investments and Vision Plus Capital.
Founded in 2013, Minieye provides an artificial intelligence-equipped advanced driver assistance system that facilitates safe autonomous driving. Its software uses visual perception technology capable of identifying pedestrians, traffic signs, lanes and other cars.
NavInfo took part in a $40.2m series C round for the company in October 2020, investing alongside Harvest Fund, Oriental Fortune Capital and Vision Plus Capital.
Minieye had raised an undisclosed amount in a series B round also led by NavInfo in early 2019, with backing from Zhejiang Zheshang.
Zhejiang Jiaxin Development and ZTE VC, a corporate venturing arm of ZTE, participated in a round of undisclosed size for Minieye the year before together with Puhua Capital.
