Communications technology provider Beijing Miteno Communication Technology has invested $3m in US-based internet of things (IoT) technology developer Sirqul, increasing its series A round to $9m in the process.
Angel investors including Rudy Gadre, Owen Van Natta, Ray Chen, Tripp Blair, Xiang Gao and Rick Dalzell provided the first tranche of the round in November 2015. China-based Miteno made the investment through its Miteno USA subsidiary.
Sirqul has developed an IoT platform that combines more than 60 application program interfaces, machine learning algorithms and application templates to help companies develop, set up and monetise IoT applications.
David Liu, chairman of Sirqul, said: “Sirqul’s technology platform is very complementary with Miteno’s growth plan.
“As a strategic investment partner, Miteno will further Sirqul’s global expansion into the Chinese and other Asian markets.”
