Ubimo, the Israeli-based developer of a mobile marketing platform, raised $7.5m in a series B round backed by YJ Capital, the corporate venturing unit owned by internet company Yahoo Japan, yesterday.
Venture capital firm Pitango Venture Capital led the round, which also featured equity crowdfunding platform OurCrowd. Pitango previously led a $2m round for Ubimo in 2013 that included angel investor Eyal Gura.
Ubimo has created a platform that provides real-time data covering specific factors such as business data, live weather and local events to mobile marketers, helping them to better target their buying.
The round, which increased Ubimo’s overall funding to $9.7m, represents YJ Capital’s first investment in an Israel-based company.
