Mocana, a US-based computer network security company, has raised $25m in its series D round from a consortium including technology companies Intel and Symantec’s corporate venturing units.
Venture capital firm Trident Capital led the D round, and was joined by peers Shasta Ventures and Southern Cross Ventures as well as Intel Capital and Symantec.
In September, Intel Capital made a strategic investment in Mocana while Symantec led the portfolio company’s series C round in May 2010, that raised about $9m. Mocana said it had raised $47m in total.
Prior to Symantec’s involvement, Mocana raised $7.7m in series B funding, in October 2008, from Japan-based companies Panasonic and Matsushita, while Shasta had previously led Mocana’s series A round which closed at $5.1m in March 2007.
