Mobile ticketing platform Moovel has purchased Validated, a US-based transport rewards software developer backed by automotive manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover, for an undisclosed amount.
Founded in 2014, Validated provides a mobile app that allows consumers to redeem ride hailing, parking, fuel and public transport costs when they spend money with participating businesses. It will continue to operate as a separate entity following the deal, while Moovel is rebranding to Reach Now.
Nat Parker, chief executive of Reach Now North America, said: “The addition of Validated provides us with a powerful tool to help transit agencies as they transition to become mobility providers.
“By offering new incentives for public transit and shared mobility services, we can strengthen cities’ transportation networks, reduce traffic congestion and support local businesses.”
Validated received a seed investment of undisclosed size from InMotion Ventures, the corporate venturing arm of Jaguar Land Rover, in 2017. It had graduated from both Jaguar Land Rover Tech Incubator and Techstars’ Seattle accelerator the previous year.
