Motorola enters MediaMorph’s $8m cloud

Motorola Mobility Ventures has helped US-based media cloud company MediaMorph raise $8m today.

The company was joined in the round by private equity firm Smedvig Capital.

Wallace Pai, vice president of corporate development for Motorola Mobility and managing partner of Motorola Mobility Ventures, said: ““Cloud-based experiences continue to be a growth opportunity for the industry, as well as a key area of focus for Motorola Mobility. We see great promise in Mediamorph’s technology and look forward to working closely with them to expand their offerings to more markets around the world.”

MediaMorph provides cloud-based software for the media industry. It launched in 2007 and has raised $11m to date.

Mediamorph has clients including media companies Disney, Warner Bros, HBO, and Fox Filmed Entertainment.
