Motorola joins Qualcomm at Visage

Visage, a mobility management business backed by Qualcomm’s corporate venturing unit, has won the backing of Motorola Solutions.

The pair were joined in the series C round on Thursday by venture firms Palisades Ventures and Worldview Technology Partners. Motorola Solutions led the round. News provider TechCrunch said Visage had raised $8m.

Reese Schroeder, managing director of Motorola Solutions Venture Capital, said: "Visage is producing differentiated enterprise mobility management solutions, delivering analytics, efficiency and lower costs to businesses," said With its ability to leverage mobile data, Visage is enabling the adoption of mobility in the enterprise."

In 2010 Visage raised $3.7m of its planned $4.2m round, according to a regulatory filing.

In February 2010, Visage raised $4.5m in its series B round from Qualcomm Ventures, and venture capital firms Worldview Technology Partners, ATA Ventures, Vesbridge Partners and Emergence Capital Partners.

Visage had previously raised more than $90m between 2001 and June 2007 before its merger with Agistics later that year changed its strategy.
